Choosing a boat

Which boat is right for my group?

It depends on how many of you there are, the occasion and how long you want to be out. Promark Houseboat suits up to 6 people, Promark I and III up to 12, Promark II and the Ocean Book up to 25, and Ange Etoile up to 40. Send us your date and group size on WhatsApp and we will recommend one rather than make you compare them all.

#
What is the difference between a private charter and the sharing cruise?

A private charter reserves the whole boat for your group only. The sharing sunset cruise sells seats on Promark II, so you share the boat with other guests. Sailing dates and available seats are shown on our website, and it usually departs in the evening between 6 pm and 8 pm. Promark II can also be chartered privately on other days and times.

#
Can we bring one or two more people than the maximum?

Each boat has a usual limit, and children count. The Puteri Harbour houseboats (Promark I and III) take 12; for a few more, up to 15, ask us on WhatsApp first, as the crew check the group's total weight. On the other boats the limit stands; if your group is larger, we will suggest a bigger boat.

#
Can babies and young children come?

Yes, with an adult supervising them. Every child counts towards the boat's capacity. The Promark Houseboat takes a maximum of 6 people, children included. Tell us the children's ages when you book.

#
Can we book for sunset?

Yes, subject to availability. Most groups start at 6 pm. The best light is around 6:45 pm to 7:20 pm. Sunset slots go first, so book early.

#
What is the minimum charter?

The Ocean Book and Ange Etoile catamarans are chartered for a minimum of 4 hours, and we add a fifth hour free. The houseboats start from 2 hours, and Promark II from 1 hour.

#
Is food included?

On the Puteri Harbour houseboats (Promark I or III, whichever you prefer), the RM1,350 package includes drinks and the RM2,699 package includes food and drinks. The Promark Houseboat package at Senibong includes food and drinks. Promark II, the Ocean Book and Ange Etoile are boat rental only. You can bring your own food at no charge, or ask us to arrange catering.

#
Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes, free of charge. If you order delivery, collect it at the marina gate yourself. The crew cannot collect it for you.

#
Can we bring alcohol?

Yes. The one rule is that red wine is not allowed on board Ange Etoile.

#
Can you decorate the boat for a birthday or proposal?

Yes. Decoration is RM200 on the houseboats and Promark II, and RM500 on the Ocean Book and Ange Etoile. Birthdays, proposals, gatherings and corporate events are all welcome. A DJ or event setup can be arranged on request, subject to space and power on the boat.

#
Is there a toilet, music and a speaker on board?

Yes to all three. Every boat has a toilet and a speaker system you can play your own music through.

#
Can we swim or jump into the sea?

Not on a standard cruise. Swimming and water activities are only part of the 6-hour watersports package. Ask us about it if that is what you are after.

#
Can we add jet skis to a boat booking?

Yes, at Senibong Cove only. The add-on is 2 jet skis for 1 hour at RM1,200. A crew member rides behind on each one when leaving and returning to the boat. Puteri Harbour bookings cannot add jet skis.

#
Where does the boat go? Can we choose the route?

Standard charters follow our approved routes along the Senibong and Johor Strait coastline. Custom routes and overseas trips, such as Batam or the Ocean Diary sailing expeditions, are possible on request and priced separately.

#
Can I see the boat before booking?

By appointment, when the boat is in the marina and not out on charter or being prepared. Message us to arrange a time.

#
Do you take corporate events and team building?

Yes. Send us the company name, preferred date, number of people, duration and what you have in mind, and we will put a proposal together.

#

Booking and payment

Do you give discounts?

Prices are our fixed public rates, with two exceptions. The houseboats and Promark II are 30% off the package price from Monday to Friday when the boat leaves between 11am and 3pm (not on public holidays). And official promotions come with a promo code you can enter when booking.

#
Are boat prices higher on public holidays?

Charters on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and over Chinese New Year (the two days before it and its first two days) carry a 30% peak surcharge. The booking page shows it on those dates. Jet ski prices do not change.

#
When is my booking confirmed?

When we receive full payment. A partial payment does not hold the slot. If someone else pays in full for the same slot first, it goes to them.

#
How can I pay?

Online by FPX bank transfer, credit or debit card, or GrabPay, or by manual bank transfer with your receipt uploaded on the booking page. Please pay before your trip; walk-in guests at the marina can also pay by card or in cash. Jet ski rides can also be bought on Klook, GetYourGuide and Trip.com.

#
What is the refundable security deposit?

Boat charters carry a deposit separate from the charter price. It is RM800 for the houseboats and Promark II, RM2,000 for the Ocean Book and RM3,000 for Ange Etoile. If nothing is damaged, lost or left abnormally dirty, we refund it within 1 to 3 working days after the trip.

#
What if something is damaged on board?

Damage, loss, misuse or abnormal cleaning caused by your group is deducted from the security deposit. If the actual cost is more than the deposit, we will ask for the balance.

#
Can I cancel and get a refund?

Confirmed bookings are non-refundable. If we have to cancel because of unsafe weather or a technical problem, we reschedule you. Any other refund request is reviewed by management case by case.

#
Can I change the date?

Yes. You may reschedule up to 3 times, subject to availability.
Please notify us at least 24 hours before departure to allow for vessel preparation and to release the slot to other customers.
Requests made within 24 hours are subject to Promark's approval.
Contact us via WhatsApp with your booking number.

#

On the day

What happens if it rains?

Light rain does not cancel a trip. The captain decides on the day based on the actual sea and weather. If it is not safe to go out, we postpone or reschedule you at no cost.

#
What if there's haze?

If the haze is unhealthy on your trip day (Johor Bahru's Air Pollutant Index above 100), you can move to another date for free, any time before departure, with no time limit. Message us on WhatsApp with your booking number. Haze is not a reason for a refund. You can check the reading at apims.doe.gov.my.

#
How early should we arrive?

15 minutes before your start time, to check in, confirm the passenger list and go through the safety briefing. Arriving late shortens your trip. The return time does not move, and no refund is given for lost time.

#
Where do we meet?

At Senibong Cove Marina, the gate is right in front of the Senibong Cove Sales Gallery. At Puteri Harbour, the entrance is the glass kiosk beside the pontoons. Your booking page has the map, the drop-off point and the crew's numbers to call when you arrive.

#
Do we need to fill in any forms?

Yes, before departure. Every passenger fills in the insurance form linked on your booking page. Boat bookings also sign one consent form per group, and every jet ski rider signs the waiver at the marina. Nobody boards without them.

#

Jet ski

How old do you have to be to ride a jet ski?

16 to drive, 5 to ride as a passenger behind an adult. No licence is needed. Our guide leads every ride and gives a briefing before you set off.

#
I have never ridden a jet ski. Which package should I pick?

Package A (30 minutes) or B (60 minutes). Both are beginner friendly and follow the guide along the city skyline and coast. Package C adds a seafood lunch stop and Package D is the 100 km kelong adventure. C and D need at least 2 jet skis.

#
Can two people share one jet ski?

Yes. Pick "double" when booking. The passenger sits behind the driver, and you can swap over on the water with the guide's go-ahead.

#
What are the rules on the water?

Life jacket on at all times. Follow the guide, stay on the route, do not overtake, and keep 30 metres from the next jet ski. Slow to 5 knots within 100 metres of a beach, and stay out of fishing, snorkelling and diving areas. No alcohol, drugs or medication that affects your riding.

#
What if I damage the jet ski?

You are responsible for damage from misuse or not following instructions. The minimum charge is RM3,000, covering repair and downtime, and actual costs above that are charged as well. A lost key is RM1,000. Riding carefully behind the guide avoids all of this.

#
Do you take photos and videos?

Our crew take complimentary photos and clips when they can, and send them to you on WhatsApp after the ride. It depends on the day's operations, so it is not guaranteed.

#
Is there a membership for regular riders?

Yes, the Sea-Doo Safari Club. RM1,990 buys 10 ride passes, valid for a year. A ride on Package A takes 1 pass per jet ski and Package B takes 2, whether one or two of you ride it. Passes are for weekdays, not public holidays, and you can share them with family and friends. Ask us on WhatsApp to join.

#

Safety and insurance

Do you provide life jackets?

Yes. Life jackets and the required safety equipment are on board, and on a jet ski the life jacket is compulsory. Please follow the captain's and crew's instructions at all times.

#
Are we insured?

Promark carries public liability insurance, which covers injury caused by our fault, subject to the insurer's terms. It is not personal accident insurance. If you want cover for every kind of incident, buy your own travel or accident policy.

#
If someone slips, falls or jumps into the sea, is Promark responsible?

It depends on the cause. Incidents from a passenger's own negligence, ignoring safety instructions, or from waves, weather and other conditions beyond our control are not automatically Promark's liability. The captain has the final say on anything to do with safety.
